Endeavour: How I Restarted My Life At 44 Poem by Vinaya Joseph

Endeavour: How I Restarted My Life At 44

At forty-four, I found the ground,
A life in pieces, dreams unwound,
A break from the world, a silent plea,
Battling demons only I could see.

Six months of shadows, days so long,
A heart once strong, now without song,
Jobless, restless, in my room,
Wrestling with a deepening gloom.

But in the dark, a spark was born,
A whisper of hope in the quiet morn,
The soul's deep well began to stir,
A call to rise, a life to confer.

Endeavour was my guiding light,
Through stormy days and endless night,
With every step, a newfound grace,
Determined to reclaim my place.

I stitched the fragments of my past,
With threads of strength, I held them fast,
Learning to walk, then run, then soar,
Finding myself, desiring more.

Each day a battle, fought and won,
With courage found beneath the sun,
I faced the world, embraced the fight,
Turning my darkness into light.

At forty-four, I began anew,
With dreams to chase and skies of blue,
Depression's grip, now loose and weak,
In life's grand stage, my voice would speak.

For in the depths, I found my fire,
A burning heart, a soul's desire,
Endeavouring to live and thrive,
Restarting life, fully alive.
