Don't think I've ever read a sadder poem than this: And what makes it even sadder is that he didn't know his words were empty, Falling as they did like dew on lush grass, a canvas for his image of you, Sparkling like diamonds set on black velvet display, Like streetlights reflecting off the night-black rippled canals of Venice, But now turned to ash as they do when diamonds burn like common coal, Withering under your fierce gaze. Yes I know him well, well enough in fact, To know that there will always be love in his heart for you. That's how I'd feel if it were me.

Words are floating in the air and ears are selective in catching those that they like. Beautiful poem. Thank you.

What a lovely poem, really like the passage, lovely words that shine like gold, they glisten in the sun; When darkness falls, they disappear, their menial task I'd done. How very true, a really good read. Thank you for sharing. Steve.

Empty words are indeed meaningless and should be left to float away - beautifully written Lora, great rhyming.
