The cold, parched pavement is like a warning sent
To her thought process to run, run away
Back to nature's dreams and the sweet melody of the birds singing each day,
She tries to be happy in this noisy, busy city overlooking the bay,

Well done my friend. Lovely piece elegantly brought forth. Remain blessed.
I love this poem written in pure Hazel style..... This is so true for so many emigrants abroad in foreign Cities, haunted by the pull of the homeland and the fields. Great stuff Hazel....well deserving of the prize!
Lovely poem. That empty stillness of Nature holds such mystical charm. Specially when it is mingled with our desire to catch the bygone memories of some special places of our past. Congratulations for the member poem place.
Hi Hazel, Congrats on being selected as Poet of the Day. Of course, you deserve it. And definitely for this beautiful poem
a high quality poem replete with NATURE images......I enjoy....I am happy truly my friend for..you are MEMBER POET..today..... CONGRATULATIONS.
It flows like a cool breeze across the face. Passionate attachment to loving nature is beautifully engraved on a poetic slate using simple diction in a rhythmic pattern. Congrats for being the member's PoD. Thanks for sharing.
A beautiful poem written under umbrella of beauty Hazel. Cong-rates being member of the day. Col Muhammad Khalid Khan
Beauty is the wildness of nature's passion in every garden field Sounds right!
It's wonderful poem and a deserving selection as members poem of the day. The charms of a country life so nicely described.
I think we all long to return to our roots. Congratulations on poem of the day!
Wisdom is the wind sometimes strong, sometimes weak like a breeze but still has appeal, ............... confused really. Wisdom is definitely not that state of knowledge which has no strong ground to stand with determination. Perhaps poet has defined wisdom from a different aspect and specially which poet's own motif to project the word. Except that the poem is well built with its imagery and metaphor.
That line is about having wisdom but sometimes going against my better judgement and ignoring it maybe in a situation being in love and knowing that my lover is not genuine but I don't want to believe it! Thank you.
Very beautifully narrated....away from the busy city-life, back into a lovely nature- filled dreaming life....very touchingly expressed.. Beauty is the wildness of nature's passion in every green field, Wisdom is the wind sometimes strong, sometimes weak like a breeze but still has appeal, ....these lines are very wisely said... well deserved for the poem of the day...congratulations
A lovely poem......! It creates a feeling of fleeing into an enchanted world to seek the mysteries of love and life! Away from the madness of the crowd, back to her heart's delight! A well deserved poem of the day! Congrats Hazel!
Run to the empty stillness of green fields, tall trees and lofty mountains, Standing silently loud and so proud She is far away from the madness of the crowd, Unforgiving... Excellent! ! ! ! ! Congrats for being selected for the day.....
Very nice. My favorite lines were these: Grey concrete is a challenge too far as nature is her heart's seal, She wants to run away from the confusion, illusion and intrusion, Back to her heart's delight, And the dreamy darkness of star filled nights, Congratulations for having it chosen as poem of the day!
Her dreams are of tall trees reaching to the sun to have some fun, Her wishes are mountains kissing the embracing skies above, Her desires is to find a lover to unite and discover the secrets of love, Her silence is a time for peace like the sign of a white dove, - Empty stillness of nature fills our heart with pure bliss- - - A wonderful poem about nature that we feel in and around us.
I fell out of touch with you, Hazel, so I'm glad this poem led me back to you. These are vexed times on our troubled planet. Many people are talking freely about seeking shelter from the storm, finding a sturdy bridge to cross to safety, escaping to some better place. Your character has her own particular reasons for flight and I don't want to treat her situation as generic. She is a unique individual who has made a difficult decision to withdraw into nature, bring herself into accord with its lasting rhythms to restore her inner self. She will pursue her goals with determination - we won't expect anything less from her - but she will also spend this time of renewal in J-O-Y, a joy she cannot summon in the loud racket of the city but which will descend upon her effortlessly in her natural environment. She will become person (as Yeats described himself) who is blessed and can bless.
