Indeed VERY fascinating. I love how aptly you expressed the struggle....abhoring the vain show, yet...what? empty pockets? ? So you resolve to have the money yet without the vanity...thereby finding triumph? Ah, but then, what about the misers, who allegedly so love the money itself that they waste it not on trifles, content to hoarde the substance itself? Nah, you are not there. I love your concluding line...the filled pockets minus the vanity, are...eerie...very interesting! Delightful contemplation, beautifully expressed.
