Hmmm. I like this poem because it reflects upon one's reality. To view 'outside' of oneself to contemplate if life exists is to be void of life 'within'? OR, do we see lifeless objects as possessing 'life' therefore once we observe the reality and purpose of inanimated objects do we feel less worthy WITH life? empty outside also implies there's some emptiness 'inside' as well!
