Reading this, I feel it is my story! ! ! Perhaps this is the story of every aging couple with the children away and the nest, almost empty! The sense of loneliness heightening the need for each other! ! Enjoyed much!

'The sense of loneliness heightening the need for each other! ' - That's right! That is the case. Thank you for your thoughtful comment, that brings out the gist of the poem, @Valsa George.

Very expressive poem of a couple of 'empty nesters' and the wife's need to feel loved and appreciated.

Men and woman are different. The woman needs this telling over and over attention, many man do not understand this, which is the reason of unhappiness. I found in my time, the best is if both have some interest for the day and when they see each other at the end of the day, they can be happy, specially if they can discuss what they did. Or get a pet and they can play with that together

Nice thoughts, Lasoaphia Quxazs, thanks for sharing. Loved your idea of seeing each other at the end of the day and discussing how the day had gone by, and playing with a pet while doing so.

Simply elegant. If not simple, then it is woven, like birds' nests, so beautifully, yet sturdily. The lady is lucky to have a man such as in your poem. Again, I can't help but rate it a ten!
