Empty Arms, Broken Dreams Poem by Lesa MRK

Empty Arms, Broken Dreams

Empty Arms & Broken Dreams
Shattered Heart & Tear-Filled Scenes
Repeated story -
'This is your life' it seems
The loss I fear, deeply buried here
Always lurking behind my tears
Another nightmare, Another night
Demons walk in my dreams tonight

I wander this world, with only a prayer
Asking for the grace of God to hold me nearer-
'Please- I ask not to have those dreams tonight
Give me hope & Give me peace
Give me faith & Restful sleep
Take away the sorrow
Wash away the doubt
Keep my head above water
For I am sinking fast....'

Lost at sea, just like me
No bright light to find my way home
Lost in the darkness, lost in the tears
Lost in the pain of too many years
I call out in anguish...
As tears fall like rain,
But only the rush of the wailing wind remains.

And as I hang by the tiniest of threads,
The sun arises and the tears finally dry...
No longer do I fear the cold, dark night.
I held on tight, though I nearly died
Whispering a prayer through each tear that I cried....
God heard my whisper and He sent me His grace
A rainbow so bright it wiped the tears from my face.

Hanging on by a thread... and rescued by grace. I think a lot of us can relate to that. Beautiful poem, Lesa! Brian
