Emptiness Remains Poem by Nell Sheridan

Emptiness Remains

Rating: 5.0

The sun creeps through the window, the same as always before,
Your towel still hangs, inanimately upon the bedroom door,
I sit holdingmy coffee, in the center of my large bed so empty,
Your no longer here yet, your scent still lingers faintly,

I drank too much vodka, an attempt to ease my loneliness,
It really didn't help, because your still gone this Imust confess,
I do not have a keepsake, nothing of yoursleft to treasure,
Soon your scent will fade, nothing will remain of you to savour,

Yes the sun will still rise, but it will never shine as brightly,
Yes life will continue again, but it will never be quite as lovely,
All that will remain, are memories that will also fade to black,
I wish that it was different, but nothing will ever bring you back,

Once the boundary is crossed, there's no return the ripples emanate,
Yes I love you, but I can't cross back we're now ruled by fate,
I will always love you, even though it's over regardless of your mistake,
I will remain the nameless shadow, following in love wake.

I wish you every happiness love, even if happinessisn't me,
I hope God cares for you,in my absence and remember youralways loved by me.
