Empire Poem by John Fenton Mcleish

Empire

the foolish elite
think they can negotiate
make a deal placate
you play games they play for keeps
your blood will run through the streets
silk road do you see
to southern lands it will be
except a city
freeway blocked by one nation
express to Jerusalem
you think you can stop
Palestinian are not
they will take the lot
inevitable but true
for they will be coming through
so predictable
and non negotiable
inevitable
your empire already lost
like rome to become a ghost
let's see how you fare
when all is level and square
soon to surrender
for they have come for their share
great powers better beware
muslim jew don't care
of foreigners unaware
burden you will bear
the same as a shooting star
all the way to Africa
ancient wars bled
Mediterranean, red
Zionism dead
another one bites the dust
explosive boom then bust
oxidize to rust
your ideology crushed
domination trashed
commandments you did libel
Pharisees in the bible
forsake your temple
and your beloved people
for profit shekel
you become a soulless knave
david does turn in his grave
how the scriptures warned
to keep the word or be burned
turned your back and scorned
the dragon does not waste time
and usury is a crime
billionaires hang
outlaw your religion
you are corruption
remember what you have done
from the barrel o' a gun
opium traffic
they will never forget it
even if you did
there will be a new order
but you won't be the author
