Emotional Betrayal Poem by DOMINIC PREMPEH

Emotional Betrayal

Mama asked me to stop crying
Because the world would never stop lying

We lie
Afterwards, we cry
We lie, like we’ve never sinned
After, we cry like we never knew

She told me to be cagey of emotions
Because all these come from emotions
Emotions that knows no joy
Knows no pain
Emotions that would make a man laugh in extreme pain
Emotions that would shed tears in happiness
Emotions that leave regret behind
After all is gone
