Embers Of Desire Poem by Alexander Romanov

Embers Of Desire

I ache to cradle your incandescent form,
Yet you blaze—a celestial flame untamed,
A mere brush ignites my essence, destined to vaporize,
In your embrace, I dissolve into the ether.

Thus, I remain a silent sentinel,
Observing shadows waltz beneath twilight's veil,
Cursing the tremors of my hesitant heart,
As zephyrs erase your luminous silhouette,
Their whispers stirring the skeletal branches.

Fear's icy grip entwines my soul—not solely for loss,
But for the very essence of your blazing spirit,
A maelstrom of ardor and peril intertwined,
Nocturnal avenues echo my solitary reverie,
Faces flicker like forgotten manuscripts,
Weary of dreams that linger in unlit realms.

My love for you ignites with fierce intensity,
But enshrouded in inferno's relentless embrace,
We spiral towards our mutual annihilation,
Entwined within a conflagration that consumes us—
Either you, or I, must relinquish the flame.

Zephyrs continue their silent purge of your form,
As arboreal sentinels groan beneath winter's chill,
And I, haunted by echoes of both loss and dread,
Stand witness to our inevitable twilight,
A spectral guardian of the fire that once danced bright.
