Embers Of Amber Poem by Alyx True Edge

Embers Of Amber

Rating: 5.0

For so long I have been waiting on you my dear,
open windows, a weary breeze sweeps in and out,
recollecting starlit summer nights and racous laughter,

Embers of amber cover the roots, blankets in silent air
rooftops ablaze in amber sunsets, a shifting spectrum

When fall's fancy colours hide decades of decay,
announced falls of icy rain and sour solitude dressed in white,
for a moment, the cold clasping coat of dwindling times
is lifted off my summer-warm shoulders
by your warming amber light

For me, the fall is always "harbinger of maladies" because my asthma aggravates in winter

thank you for sharing, It is not good to hear that but I can relate. The humid, thick air, especially in the woods, it is not the best weather for unconstricted breathing

The onset of autumn brings in a riot of colours. But, that they " hide decades of decay" goes un-noticed. A litter poignant, as the fall is, in spite of its fancy colours.

It is a gift that you indeed noticed this subtle reference to the decay beneath the colour play, haha, it is such an interesting perspective as you mention it now: fall being a litter poignant
