Elusive Love Poem by William Waterway

Elusive Love

Yes, my love
true love may be elusive
As we seek the ethereal with senses material
fraught with doubt to fill one’s heart
with loveless drought
But yet
we struggle to believe
and live with hopeful heart open
against all odds in this world of woes
Struggle to find emotional calm in this
stormy realm
To live a life of unwavering trust
with the thought of finding love
undeniable
A love that is felt with knowing intuition
unquestionable
And, when we find such a love – beware
my love
For such a discovery can easily slip
into depths miserable
As doubt creeps into your mind
from others who know love not
From others who cast their dark veil
over your heart’s loving eye
So you become blind to the light of
of our newly found love
As I helplessly watch you sadly return
to lonely domain
seeking love in worldly terrain
A living love poem with endless refrain
