Nimal, your Black Beauty reminds me of similar childhood remembrances. How poignantly you relate this bitter/sweet tale of lost opportunity. The delightful line 'My sweetheart, could I borrow your buttocks as my pillow? ' reminds this reader not to take the story too seriously. Thank you so much for the dedication.
