This poem really impacts me. In its essence it remains a mystery in terms of identity. Some kind of birth is taking place, and it will happen inevitably whether or not we outsiders are participating. The speaker's tone is very measured and impersonal but the words s/he uses alerts us to something remarkable. And the last stanza delivers on that expectation: A RADIANT BEING, METAMORPHOSED, /CHANGED, & VISIBLE. Something awesome has occurred and we are half-believing witnesses, perhaps it is our own evolution, or some new creature to the earth, or the illusion of an over-heated brain. I'm not ready to bring closure!
