Our
old weathered
thatch
withered like
a dead moth's wings
Leaving
many passages
onto the lusty skies
beyond
A hundred
dusty beams
lit up the rooms
and
I count in delight
many a shining eggs
cast in light
Mom quite annoys
sweeping
and sprinkling water
just to lay
the swirling
dust
That
summer bright
a day dad said
Watch in the noon
All those
glowing eggs
would be swallowed up
by the moon
Hey!
an enchanting
celestial
sight to see
Once in a blue moon
solar eclipse,
the moon embraces
the sun
But he warns
My son dear,
don't dare
look at the sun
eyes bare
It would burn
Unable
to foresee
what dad meant
stood I, stared
in sheer amazement
An impending
grand celestial event
so very rare
as things excellent
A total solar eclipse
Whatever,
I wondered:
What fun
is that moon hugs
and
devours the sun!
A stunning eclipse
and still
an unkind
blinding sun!
So
scared
even as so eager
to watch
a celestial wonder
much anxious
I was
But
I shouldn't be
looking up
into the blistering skies
with bare eyes
What an awful union
of the moon and sun!
Ah, and
in unison likewise
as always my grandma
and mama whines,
all about
my mischiefs,
I felt it's
too sweet to spit
and
too bitter to swallow
What
a dilemma!
Dad
but very readily
consoles
after feeling
my pulse,
hope and despair,
soon
Hey, listen
my son dear,
our little philosopher
Don't worry at all
Life events, at best are
bittersweet
after all
Like
day and night
or
rain and shine
it's all
the Great Architect's
design,
grand design
His own purpose
that
no one
can dispose
The
crazy little mind
of mine
now embarks
on an exciting ride,
a journey
into
the realm of imagination
A so curious boy's
sojourn
in this world of mystery,
the vast cosmos
And
casts soon
an array of images
in turn of eclipse
And
as my dad
rightly reminisces
with me-
On an embracing moon,
the
great celestial romance
of the sun and moon
And
a cosmic dance
in celebration
between
light and shadow
on the sun
Besides,
so majestic
a show
in my rustic rooms
that're adorned with
countless
cute little suns
Little suns so vibrant
showing up
lucidly on the floor
And
now, dad softly says
Hey, my boy dear,
they'll all be showing up
as if
a shower of
heavenly blessings
His
great wonders
of inestimable worth
A celebration
par excellence
both
in heaven
and on earth
And
he exclaims
Oh,
what an awesome
show of celestial love
could it be!
And
for the first time then
eclipse,
not just one
but hundreds,
I saw,
an ever so curious
child,
Dad's little science seeker
Yeah, a total eclipse
of the sun,
the grand celestial
spectacle ever
Yet,
so cute little ones
Wow!
what a delightful surprise
Several
alluring silver crescents
Alas!
raging rings of fire
turned
incredible diamond rings
All lying
right before my eyes,
scattered,
resplendent
and
glittering
in our
dung plastered
floor!
In that
amazingly
joyous moment,
hugging me heartily,
dad comments
Oh, my boy dear,
whatever we see are
nothing but
just embodiments
of love, eternal love
Showing up everywhere,
here on earth
and in heaven!
And
since then
from my heart of hearts,
from my very soul,
I have loved
my earth, sun, moon
and this beautiful
world
even more
and
evermore!
