I walked again where my childhood bloomed,
Through lanes where old whispers once softly loomed.
The walls have changed, the faces are new,
Yet shadows of laughter still silently grew.
The banyan's shade no longer the same,
But evening winds still call my name.
Steps I had lost, I found them again,
Woven in earth, in sunshine, in rain.
The houses are strangers, the voices unknown,
Yet the soil remembers the seeds I had sown.
Every corner hums a forgotten song,
Of days that were fleeting, yet ever so strong.
I wandered through paths both old and untold,
Letting the dusk wrap me in gold.
In silence I carried a secret delight
The child within me had returned tonight.
