Is there someone
who really loves you
Does true love exist
People have different
versions of love to say
You care and share
proclaiming it's love
Is it not for personal benefits
Then how to differentiate
between true and fake
You may dance
on the finger tip of others
for their happiness
You act like a clown
to make them laugh
But who is really there
to appreciate the real you
And joins with you for your
small achievements
People are selfish
And so you and me
Love is a poison which
all wants to drink
But hesitate to kill
others with it's essence
A reread shows your philosophical probing in this excellent poem. We know when we feel love and are loved. Just as we know when it is rain trickling dwn our cheeks.
Thanks Rini for crafting such a beautiful poem. 10++++ for the sharing.
Love is a rare human emotion that has been classified into multiple names over the centuries., Eros, Philips, agape, are the four different forms of love, each one has its own place. However true love is not holding hands, but holding hearts. Love teaches us to burn for someone completely without any regrets, without any rewards.
Your questioning, and deep poetic analysis of love in this poem is superb! A pleasure to travel thru and to remember. Love's ever fascinating mystery. Beautifully done and presented.
You have struck the right cord......in the present times..love is a temporary phenomenon created out of so many factors like pretension, flattery, selfish motives, ........only God is one's eternal lover...and to realise this, it may take the whole human birth. Thanks for churning out the truth....

I would like to translate this poem
Love is a basic need of human. We all crave love from someone to fulfill that need and in return we love back. It is complementary. But sometimes we love and that love is not reciprocated in the same way as we love and that becomes a disappointment and frustration. But real love is never selfish it is giving freely without demand.
Great comment that I'd like to quote, Nudershada. Love is what we need in life to feel well and live well, but it can be a poison in some disappointing situations. Real love is selfless, even unconditional. Good discussion about love in the form of poem, Rini.
