Echo Of Regret Poem by Chika Offor

Echo Of Regret

Rating: 1.0

I care not people's word;
Their voice no pound it adds.
Deep in the valley of lust
The lotus blossomed and withered.
Drunk with the voice of my friends,
Staggering if found myself in a lone world.
In love with a rose; blind as I see the lotus depart.

A second chance I seek.
To make amend of my mistakes.
If willing, a test please give;
To see how much I mean.
Myself my beast controlled,
My mind my conscience hurt.

Your sunrising smile, I need.
My lost soul will be found.
Your trust my dream to buy.
Birth right, I care not I will sell.
Your heart to steal I wish,
Like jade it is to me.

Too ashamed! !
My dignity stripped off!
Laughter! From my conscience the sound came.
'Titanic'the ship I boarded, at no where it sank.
The dragon I claim to be, met my slayer.
The Mt.Everest I climbed, too cold I let go.

My selfish self,
My doom I was rewarded with.
My life, heartless it was.
Thoughts of being wise,
Left me lone in ruins.

My book my companion,
My pen my mind,
I can't cease writing,
To earth end my words shall reach.
Like buzzer sounds my voice;
What you seek, always are with you.
