He has never been to Jerusalem,
nor Mecca, never visited Tibet,
Bodh Gaya, Fatima or Saragossa,
neither seen the Pope in Rome,
nor the British Queen.
He is clerk in bank by day -
zealous pilgrim in a dream
and the holiest place for him
lies in the curve between

A special technical effect I find in this... well blended and really Onelia only you can do this so effectively.. Eccentric universally... great write and enjoyed. Rema

A superb portrait - the closing lines are pure magic creating such a sensual image. justine
there's no difference between the higher states of meditation and sexual ecstacy...
This is a lovely observation - as always from you, dear Onelia - and I fully understand the Eccentric's point of view. Not only men have these perceptions of beauty in a loved one's body and I relate to this so easily!
Wow, Loved it... So enchanting and simply beautiful... :)
Wow it is a wonderful poem Onelia. Amazingly beautiful. 10+++ for it.

Dear Onelia Avelar, continuing to read your poems I discover new values in your poems. The Eccentric is a sample of a little dream for the man-in-the-street, who knows how to travel, at no expense (responds to my poems: The small hero, and the driver of Bronx) . So well planned, well-penned a poem. I give it a 10. Thanks Joseph Josephides Member of the International Society of Poets (ISP) Intern.Library of Poetry awarded
