You are so inspired at the moment. This poem, again brings back long buried memories. Its strange but i relate to a lot of the things which you write about. This is so strong. Your poems are always a great source of strength for me. Im sure they are for others here to. Thank you. Kindest Regards Slim. x.
You have such an ability to write down from memories a storyline that gives a picture of the struggle between drink and living normal lives. A very well done narrative. It's amazing how you have come through all this and survived to have a wonderful family. Congrats to you. Love Ernestine XXX
Mary, Just a tremendous poem and no small bit of courage to share it with the world. Also, if the work of gaing sobriety is not well done I fear the result of what is known in the rehabilitation trade as a 'dry drunk.' Alcohol is not present but deep emotional storm is present. Your poem captures with great power and beauty this dry drunk phenomena in a marriage setting. Thank you again for an extraordinary offering. Blessings, Bill Grace
Dear Mary, I enjoyed your poem, 'Easy Does It'-and it brought to mind a flood of memories and thoughts, which I of course instantly compartmentalized and intellectualized. I wrote a memoir of my deceased ex, and our relationship, giving special attention to alcholism and the losses and damage sustained in its wake. If you have interest, personal or otherwise, on the subject, I could make this available to you-I've tried to make it accessible online through OurMedia.org, but the format I have it in has Photos in addition to text, so I can't seem to get it downloadable thusfar. Thanks for your offering this poem, Phillip
