Earth Anthem Comments

and I'd like to add: This is a futurist poem which combines an ecological reverence for the earth (the GAIA theme) and a prophecy of space travel and colonization. I have a poet friend who really liked the four 'Let us... ' anthems at the end but disliked the theme of Space. He said the poem was cluttered and confusing. But the response of another poet to it was very positive and she encouraged me to publish the whole poem. Questa è una poesia futurista, che combina il rispetto ecologico per la terra (il tema di GAIA) e una profezia di viaggi spaziali e della colonizzazione di altri mondi. Ho un amico poeta cui sono piaciuti molto i quattro inni ['Andiamo..'] conclusivi, ma che ha avversione per il tema dello Spazio. Per lui la poesia è disordinata e confusa. Ma la risposta di un altro poeta è stata molto positiva e mi ha incoraggiato a pubblicare l'intero testo.

Inno alla Terra Testimonio il fervore della nostra perenne fiducia nell'Ordine Cosmico. I pianeti, il fuoco e il sonno parlano per enigmi dei nostri destini. This is a wonderful poem. Was it inspired by the Gaia book, or spaceship earth? It's kind of funny and quaint in this presentation: the combination of the futurism with the mysticism. I think there could be ways to deal with it even more subtly. Maybe beginning with the earth as a character, and the dreams while in her orbital sleep. How fragile this peace is, and she experiences for the briefest moment, a shortness of breath... the entirety of humanity. What is our contribution? I get that it's an anthem, I couldn't hear the music myself, which is unfortunate.
