Early In The Morning Lord Poem by Gary James Smith

Early In The Morning Lord

EARLY IN THE MORNING LORD

Early in the morning Lord
At my first breath of air
May I offer praise back unto You
For I know that You are there
Your Spirit as my Comforter
Praise God He lives inside
At my disposal for Godly living
To keep me Lord from pride

Thanksgiving as an offering
What great things Christ has done
To the satisfaction of my soul
And for the victory over sin
Now for a new ' I want to'
To please You in everything
Knowing forgiveness for my transgressions
Giving cause for my heart to sing

This my prayer of gratitude
For saving a sinner like me
Turning my life around as such
Pointing me to Calvary
Where I acknowledged what I was
Lost...condemned...and undone
But You saved me with amazing grace
Thank you dear God for your Son!

Hallelujah, what a Saviour!
