Rating: 5.0

Majestic he mounts the thermals high,
Serenely sailing yon clear blue sky;
Alone he circles, wings abreast
Far above, his mountain nest.

A good description about the endangered wildlife especially that of an eagle which still maintains one of the alove rituals of world called FALCONRY. Serious efforts are needed on local as well as international levels to understand the importance of these species that are on the verge of extinction.......10/10

This is a wonderful write Alf. It is so true and should bring us grief. I can see him soaring, I can feel the sadness. Great job.

To watch great birds in flight, is a joy everyone should behold. To notice natures beauty is something all of us should do....daily. This way we become in touch with Gods creation. However the prophecy in your last stanza, I cannot wish, and I refuse to think, that as a species we could destroy all. Great poem Alf

a afine tribute to the magestic bird...we are so fortunate here in that being our country symbol...they are intensely protected...and at times I have been on an isolated river...and found myself witnessing a pair in flight

A skillful and informative poem of a despicable and evil act of cruelty towards animals just for fun. I believe until cruelty to animals ceases (joke) there will never be peace in the world. Excellent work! Karin Anderson

You have sent a powerful message in God's name and you have done it in your beautiful poetic form. God blesses you for that. I saw hundreds of Eagles in Alaska last year and they are one of God's truly magnificent creatures. They are plentiful and flock the beaches where the fishing boats come in. You can sit for hours and watch them. A great tribute, Alf. Thank you! Warm Wishes, Marilyn

Chilling thought you leave us with Alf but true. Listened yesterday to the evocative call of the fish eagle and what you have written here came to mind...written with passion Alf, if only mankind will heed your plea. Regards, Cindy

A great poem with a message said in high voltaic spirit and elegant verses. 'See how men from every nation, Make mockery of God’s creation'... This is not only true in the case of eagles but regarding other creatures. The cry behind a butcher's knife goes unlistened. That is also a tragedy. I have two poems handling this theme - 'The unkindest cut of all' and 'A poem of flesh and blood'.. You may please go through.

I really enjoyed it… indeed a magnificent poem understanding the magnificence of an eagle in pride of flight..... the poem shows care and beauty to all the tender hearted people.......we humans have a horrifying habit of caring not at all about nature while we can …a lesson for all of us An excellent write..... GOD has blessed you with a rare insight It’s a sure tenner cheers
