Dusk's Bittersweet Embrace Poem by Alexander Romanov

Dusk's Bittersweet Embrace

Let me witness the day's demise,
How its heart sinks in the ocean's cries,
And the wind moans an endless sigh,
Over a world into shadows it ties.

Let me bid farewell to what won't return,
To what can't be kept or discerned,
Imprinted in fading memory's burn,
The final moment's blade discerned.

Here begins the ache so deep,
Where sadness takes its initial sweep,
The angel's silent weep,
Scattered into the sands that seep.

And there exists no more,
No faith, no love to implore,
No peace, no war to explore,
Only us and sunlight's gentle pour.

With fragments of eyes, like crystal gleam,
Awakening through us,  in a dream.
