Désenchanté Poem by D.A. Woods

Désenchanté

Since the beginning of time we were always
one force of two with a sense of belonging until we got to this life.

We got separated and I had spent most my time here yearning for you, desperately seeking you.
Every passing day stabs me with its steel knife.
I'm continuously bleeding and it hurts.

Our souls belong together as they always had,
you were my soul, my eternities wife.
The stars in the sky have never been aligned.
Saturns in place and the angels are sad.

Saddened because of their help as there's always something in the way.
Saddened by the real truth and how they fought in vain.
Cupids arrows continuously misses and we're still astray.

I can't leave this earth without you,
our new home awaits in a new galaxy where we started.
I shall be for ever lost knowing I can't get at you since we parted.

Time here is so precious and moves so fast.
We can't stop it here, we need to leave shortly.
Nothing here lasts forever and at a blink of our eyes? ...life has past.
Solitude is the forecast.

Wherever you are lost, know this, I'm searching for you.
To take you back where you belong, back here with me.
Back as one and forever entwined,
back as one complete star, back where I am yours and you are mine.
