Drunk Driving. Poem by Shelby L

Drunk Driving.

Rating: 5.0

Dark and cloudy,
The rain sowly poured.
Fog so thick,
The lights wouldn't work.
Heading into town,
Even seems like a task.
You make it safely,
Or so you thought.
The light has turned red,
And so you stop.
Then out of know where,
Your in a ditch.
Losing to the darkness,
Invading your head.
You awake in the hospital,
Dazed and confused.
Thats when the doctor tells you,
You got slammed in the rear.
Thrown from the car,
Seemed so unreal.
But when you asked for a mirror,
It begain to sink in.
You asked about the driver,
But silence answered the question.
Turns out to be he was underage,
A young driver who thought,
He could break away.
For he was at a party not long ago.
Drunk of his rocker,
He thought he could drive that car.
They say he blacked out,
The moment he hit my car.
I pry for the family,
That now has know son.
The only thing we can do,
Is carry on.
Keep trying to counsoul,
Kids in drunk driving.
Its the best we can do.
