Drugs: The Grim Reaper Poem by MTHANDAZO SAMAL MKHWANANZI

Drugs: The Grim Reaper

Beware youths, listen to the warning call,
You're speeding down the highway, to a fatal fall,
The road is paved with temptation, and destruction's near,
Don't let the devil's whispers, lead you to the precipice, my dear.

The signs are clear, the dangers are real,
The highway to hell, is where you're headed, it's how you feel,
The thrill of the moment, the rush of the high,
Will soon turn to ashes, and a lifetime of sighs.

The devil's in the details, in every deceitful guise,
He'll promise you the world, but deliver only compromise,
He'll whisper sweet nothings, in your ear so fine,
But lead you down the garden path, to a life of crime.

So beware youths, don't take the devil's bait,
For once you're hooked, it's hard to escape the weight,
Of addiction's chains, of sin's dark night,
That will haunt you forever, without a glimmer of light.

Choose life instead, choose the path that's true,
Follow your heart, and let your spirit renew,
For you are the future, the hope of the land,
Don't let the devil's lies, lead you to a life unplanned.
