We are prone to stick to our understandings and not deviate from them under any circumstance, as the poet says: 'For fear that in losing our grasp on our personal reality The world itself shifts and cracks like tectonic plates Leaving us adrift on some new tiny continent'. Great poem with depth and reality. A sort of philosophical write that makes interesting reading. Thanks for sharing.
There is so much truth in what you say! I was fascinated by your train of thought. This poem is very well put together.
