Driving Wild Poem by William Deutscher

Driving Wild

Your Monaco curves
now booked
with time served
and we're hooked.

Your tricks of memory
from left field
something to see
but not revealed.

Watch for looming traps
along the way
our sweet collapse
any day.

Disconnected
misdirected
lost girl shout
all about.

You spit it out
double take
there's no doubt
we're too late.

Just a stone's throw
to the dark
lost in shadow
wide of the mark.
