This is an interesting poetic form! Reading this I feel like trying this out! But to deviate from the familiar pattern is always a challenge for me. With repeating words you could create the feel of a slow drifting i

Sometimes we need to drift, don't we? It's really fun when you do it in a car around a corner! Thank you my friend for commenting and giving me a 10 on my drift-ability!

I rather enjoyed this style of writing. Writing about drifting with the clouds is a very pleasant perception. Perception of gentle movement with repeating words and alliteration (a repeating of sounds) , moves us ever so slightly towards your ending. Ending that really never stops the flow of this poem, this writing. Writing in this style is in itself a sort of drifting. Drifting is rather enjoyable.

It actually was a very relaxing style of poem to write [chain] and the topic sent me drifting happily along as I wrote it! I totally recommend the chain style verse as a pleasant change of pace style! Thank you Jette for your kind words!

What a lovely sentiment! Reminds me of the old song by the Sons of the Pioneers - Drifting along with the Tumbling Tumbleweeds. I can feel myself floating along in the air, sliding from one cloud to another, but never in fear of falling. Wonderful!

Oh, that was a wonderful thing to say. I remember that song and it did have a lovely sense of drifting along! ! ! Thank you and I'm glad my piece raised you up to go drifting amongst the clouds!

Superb! What artistry! I get the image of a feather floating....but floating in tandem with the gentle demands of gravity (gravity of every type!) . Indeed, these words come together as a feather, not a pendulum!

Oh, I agree! ! ! No heavy pendulum of doom and gloom in this poem! ! ! Just sheer enjoyment of the moment in time we find ourselves in, going with the flow, shifting with the changes of direction, bending with the breeze, loving where we are going and loving where we've been! ! ! Thank you Mj for your read and for your uplifting comment! !

What a lovely chain verse. When reading this it felt like a little feather or a balloon drifting here and there gently touching, bumping and nudging the corners of life. Loved the sense of lightness of being in your poem. Beautiful.

You're spot on, Susan! Purposely was the right word to use in the context, and purposefully has a different meaning. Sorry! I'm imagining you drifting in a good-handling car...!

Yes, a new style for you, Susan. It's very effective for the topic. It's nice to experiment. By the way, did you mean purposely? Am I just ignorant or did you coin the word yourself? I know of purposefully or purposelessly... Anyway, I think your poem expresses your need to drift, perhaps away from the anxiety and stress of this tragic world. Who doesn't need that sometimes?

Ha! You made me look it up! ! ! ! [ I am quite capable of making up words :) ]Here's what Google says: pur·pose·ly ˈadverb on purpose; intentionally. she had purposely made it difficult synonyms: deliberately, intentionally, on purpose, by design, willfully, knowingly, consciously, of one's own volition; Whew! Glad it was there! But to be honest if it hadn't been a word, I still would have made it one....Purposefully would have dragged that poem's feet and ruined that sweet gliding drift going on that I was hearing and feeling! Thank you for a very alert comment! ! Shows you pay attention to what you're reading! That makes you an excellent reader and commentator! ! ! Yeah, I received a parole from the fear and anxiety and stress and I went on a drift, me and a good-handling car :)

Hypnotic rhythm. and I like the chain verse idea very much. You are never afraid to experiment and this one succeeds because of the fine control of the rhythm. Well done, Susie.

Tom! What a lovely comment! ! ! Thank you- brought my spirits up! ! ! I do like to experiment but sometimes the poem looks a bit woe-be-gone by the time I get finished with the poor thing... but this one was a joy. Think I might try another one soon.

Beautiful poem gently drifting amongst clouds and corners of life, which make us feel good and light. That tells our life so calm even amongst storms. Loved it from your pen Susan.

Sliding softly sideways you are drifting now. With clouds you are very softly drifting. This poem is beautifully presented and this carries tenderness of expression. Feeling life is nice. Reaching up to every corner values more. An interesting poem is shared here....10
