Drifting Away Poem by Jayne Louise Davies

Drifting Away

In the silence of the morning,
as my thoughts drift me away,
to those days fondly remembered,
in the warmth of yesterdays.
I can hear your voice so clearly,
as the memories unfold,
I so wish that you were near me,
in this life that feels so cold.
Let me drift here from the present,
to your arms that held me tight.
Let me bathe in summer sunshine,
float to you past stars so bright.
For i miss your very presence,
For i know that you are gone,
But within my heart you're with me,
There the love will linger on.
