Dreams Poem by M McParland

Dreams

I didn't get a wink of sleep last night,
but the night was filled with dreams
of such earnest delight.
Dreams of you and I just spending time,
talking, laughing, holding hands and snuggling,
reading books about all subjects to each other
and sharing our favorite music.
A night filled with dreams
that I pray may come true some day.

What better to fill a sleepless night
than to dream of the one who gives great delight.
All that we could share and hopefully will,
being with you would be sublime my sweet beautiful dear.
I dreamed of just snuggling up
and spending time listening to you
tell me everything you've wanted to share,
and telling you anything you have longed to know about me.
Oh how I wish these dreams were happening right now.

Now as I embark on a long tired day
I will cling to these dreams
and send you all of my warmth and true love
to fill you with kind soothing comfort.
One day my love all of our dreams
will come true,
and we will finally find peace and acceptance
in the great true love we hold for one another.
