A poet who fails to touch the hearts or give some consolation to the desolate and underprivileged is no poet at all! Like you, I too believe that it is the sacred duty of a poet to lick away the wounds of the afflicted. There should be a personal touch in his poems so that they resonate with his readers. Also it is important that the poet shouldn't take a higher stance..... but should treat his readers on par with him! Great thoughts beautifully expounded! Top marks....
