This is a wonderful poem because it touches my heart but it is a bittersweet poem also. Sweet because the girl (she's not yet a woman, and that is part of her appeal, arrested development keeps her girlish charisma intact) is the epitome of femininity, but bitter because she can only touch you not embrace you, make any number of promises but not fulfilling even one, treating you like a singular man as she does countless men. She has every right to play this role for as long as she likes, and we to respond with delight... but she will never fulfill our desires.
