I did not see the fight. My first was in 1975 Ramble in the jungle. May the best man win every time. It is never about colour in competition. Give all people a fair chance and the whole nation will succeed. America is a lot like that but of late there is a sublimal urge to look at a persons race. Very detrimental. I am posting " The colour of my skin" Poem.
Brilliant, Richard! I remember listening to Ali on the radio before one of the fights with George. He, Ali, was in Vancouver and on a panel with 'Canada's Greatest Athlete' (Gene Kiniski) . No question that Chuvalo was a great fighter, and I know he communicated that to " I am the greatest." I will never shake the 'washerwoman' image. I hope all is well with Mr. Chuvalo. I hope you sent him this poem. It goes to myfavourites.
