Well of course this is an excellent write, it's writen by one of the greats (David Harris) I love this poem, a very familiar tale indeed. I wonder why so many put up with situations like this. Fortunately I've never been down this road but know many that have. I ask myself is it low self esteem, or do we want to be loved so bad that we're willing to take almost anything. Well, I've always said you have to love yourself first and if you truly love yourself, you won't go down this road, you'll walk away with head held high, A wonderful poem David, I know many can relate. A very familiar road, David. It's hard to be the 'consolation prize' (as Sally told Harry.) Yet we wait for that very thing to happen, because no matter how bad we are hurting, we'd still open that door again in a heartbeat. Old loves die hard. You really hit home with this one - great write! Linda

Don't we all do this, David? Follow the same pattern in our relationships. I guess that's what makes us who we are. Why are we forever being told that we're wrong, when it's just the way we are. This one could do with a tune - perhaps it has one already. A sad theme that rings all too familiarly here, but a very fluid and rhythmic piece of quality poetry. jim
