Don't go there
Where you used to live,
With the telling winds
And knowing nods to yesterday.
Don't go back
To who you once were
And when you once were,
Lost now in the sturdy memory
Of What was…
Don't cross again
The river of the past,
Where you played games
Of timeless indifference,
Now dumbfounded by adult misery.
Don't go back
And expect a happy outcome
For lies, lie there
Hidden in the undergrowth
of forgetfulness.

No one can change the past. Nor should think things were better once. Everyone's best is yet to come.
