Don't Settle Poem by Practicing Poetess

Don't Settle

Rating: 5.0

When it comes to love,
Far too many people'settle'.
They are so in love with love,
They take the first thing that comes along.
Wanting love so badly,
They force a relationship to work
When, in truth, it's a horrible fit.
Don't accept the counterfeit or the substitute
Don't be in denial.
Wait a bit longer for the real thing.
You don't want just anybody
You want true love that will last.

Bitter is correct, Kostas- - Often that is what results from these unions- many arguments, power struggles. Or else, they make the children their whole life. Or else, they have separate outside interests and hobbies that keep them apart. Thank you for your astute comment!
