Don't Play That Song Again. Poem by dave lessard

Don't Play That Song Again.

Rating: 5.0

Don't play that song again,
it carries too much sorrow;
it reminds me of the pain,
when today became tomorrow.

When tomorrow is the same,
because your not beside me;
you no longer call my name,
I'm where you cannot find me.

It's a sad and lonely place,
but I'm living and not dying;
better not to see your face,
love gone but not from trying.

We've lost the tie that binds,
dreams dissolved into the dust;
alas, now, we've lost our minds,
all because we lost our trust.

Don't play that song again,
or tears will start to flow;
our love simply has to end,
still waters too rough to row.
