Don't Look Poem by William Kofoed

Don't Look

She says my name
I turn and look
There she is
Six inches away
She is standing
I am sitting
Right in my face
I look away
And I wonder
Does she think
What she is doing
Does she know
What a man thinks
How a man feels
When she is there
With that view

I'm told they don't
Not a thought
And beside
I shouldn't look
Seems unreal
They think that way
But there she is
I look away
