theft lying deceit are all part of an ancient pastime
in a less tolerant age theft could get you crucified
nailed to a cross a cruel warning permanent solution
in an age of Muhammad thief caught was right hand cut off
harsh last warning no left hand cut off how would you work
repetition repeat thief caught was death no mercy solution
in contemporary western world theft is a common disease
social worker said there is no moral right wrong just choice

the ancient Roman mind was attuned to political intrigue
when meeting in streets crowded places Romans would not
hand shake with strangers potential enemies a dagger hidden
to promote plot cover lies hidden dagger was a swift solution
grip both wrists when meeting to ensure a dagger was not
plunged into heart by stranger free hand ensures life continues

murder loves shadows dark places to spring from to hide
overkill leaves so many knives in blood back victim looks
like a stegosaurus stabosaurus struck down from behind
truth love does not coward hide in shadows dark dirty places
truth love walk in peace gift industrious embrace healing light
truth love believe in life morality accountability human rights
