I thought it a very funny poem. Actually I was a silent version of your hated neighbour as new people moved in next door some 12 months ago. They more or less gutted the house with high pitched drills sounding off etc. I just retaliated by playing very loud rock music. But once their work finished they've been as quiet as mice. I even went to the husband's 60th Birthday party the other day. I love the line While they're away for anointment!
