Distrustful Passageway Poem by RoseAnn V. Shawiak

Distrustful Passageway

Silent whisperings being heard by hearts in love
and retiring its essence in the fabric of what
we once had.

It is now disappearing into a distrustful passage-
way, one filled with echoes of a previous time when
there was nothing remembered or standing in the way.

Not here today, for there's way too much that keeps
us apart and unwelcome in one another's lives nowa-
days, a sad but true statement.
