With coffee in my right hand and papers in my left
I didn't even spill a drop, who knew I was so deft

I strolled into the garden and sat upon my bench

Delightfully good-natured and thus speaks highly of she who penned the charming, spunky rhyme.

nice to visit this one again! soon it shall grace the halls of Section A of my/our September Showcase for PH poets. bri :) thanks. if i were the Jay, i'd miss the kiss more than the worm if you didn't blow it my way (the kiss, that is) . Ants crawled up my coffee cup and down into the pool They swam around a little while but found it wasn't cool.............i'll bet you meant cool in more ways than one! i ate some tiny ants this past winter when they foolishly invaded a bag of flake cereal in our kitchen cupboard. tasty! ! ! to MyPoemList; it may be there already.

Very entertaining 10/10. It reminds me of trying to study for exams outside in the summer - a few hours later you realise you're still on the same page.

Hi, I saw your poem in Bri's showcase. I love this poem (I also get easily distracted, there is just so much to see and imagine) , and so real life in a wonderfully imaginative way. Darla :)

Debbie, i changed my mind! this one is my favorite stanza: He claimed there was a problem, with finding worms that day I blew a kiss, said goodbye and then he flew away bri :)

this stanza gave me a little chuckle! Upon that cold, stone table the wind began to blow My pencil rolled onto the ground and papers flew like snow.... i think it was this one. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - my favorite stanza is: Horrified I witnessed a knock down drag out fight Between two squirrels up in a tree, oh it was quite a sight! ................... it reminds me of some 'chasing' or 'playing' i've seen squirrels doing. i also am a sucker for nice rhymes. DISTRACTIONS FOR SURE! ! ! ! i just did a little work with a credit card statement today; i was NOT looking forward to it. at least i had a half-eaten bowl of yummy cereal next to me on the dining table and i could turn to it for relief. yes, nature can be immensely beautiful, interesting, and distracting. have you ever tried to balance your budget while lounging with others at nudist camp? ? it was HARD for me there. i loved this poem and will love having it in my April Showcase. thanks so much! bri :) p.s. left/deft........wonderful! at first i wasn't sure of the definition of 'deft', but it fits perfectly. you didn't even try to always make a rhyme, AND apparently didn't worry if some of the rhymes weren't the 'best'. but i liked it very much. i'd rather see no rhyming or some 'imperfect' rhymes which do a nice job, than a perfectly-rhyming poem which is messy, unclear, and obviously forced. this HAS TO go to MyPoemList! ! shouldn't be a surprise. are you sure i didn't write this poem? ? ?
