I sense what you’re saying here, Tony. Attachment to our persona indeed incites what you say here. A poem from Rumi comes to mind with the line that every object can be a jar of delight. He goes on to say, though, that we should choose like connosieurs. The outer world is quite different when seen with the heart and eyes of love and gratitude. Signing off for now, Be well, brother.
