I described an earlier poem as one without shadows because the mood is sweet throughout. Here it is all shadows. I mean shadow really in the Jungian sense referring to those negative aspects of life we ignore, deny, refuse to integrate into our light-being. Terrible things result: I can only dimly imagine how wounded those boys will be as adults. Your compassionate eye was helpless.

It is so sad to see family disintegrating thus. Though living under one roof, no love is lost between the husband and wife. Poor children are the victims in such broken families. Once they grow up loveless, they will begin to hate the whole world and the outcome will be disastrous! Your poem is a warning to many, especially to the selfish husbands! Thanks for sharing your concern over weakening ties between man and wife! A 10
