Dining In The Rain Poem by Adrian Antique

Dining In The Rain

Have you ever dined in a drizzle?
Every bitten piece in the rain is a nibble …
Each swallow comes with both eyes closed
Like savoring a dish for the first time lovingly most.

Have you ever eaten breakfast in a surprising morning rain?
Water drops on your table makes a marvelous refrain …
Curling coffee smoke mixing with flakes from heaven
Sky biscuits and angel sweets falling there and then.

Have you taken snacks beneath a wet, dripping pine tree?
Like sharing a love note with your old man and the blue sea …
Dark brown chocolate caramel cake can surely be
A damp, unforgettable ice cream from dream's eternity.

Have you experienced hunger in a quiet, sullen darkness?
When you sought something and could not find it in your weakness …
You dreamt of food you've eaten yet thirsted for some you've never seen
And then water comes from up above where you have never been.

Have you tasted Christmas soaked in a sudden storm?
Everything you ever wanted quickly washed by a misty form …
Sorry I sometimes ask these questions - I love December and its cool silver drops
But being alone can at times be drowning and delicious with harmonious gasps.

Have you loved and lost somebody in the rivers of sweet September?
Singing an empty love song in the fields of long October …
And tirelessly begging for a taste to quench your dark November
Then surprisingly getting a fill of playful joy that's lasting December.

Have you ever felt like you could swim away in a sudden rainfall?
Move your way up or down after a lengthy, bad phone call …
Me - I ran to a corner with my spoon and fork in the middle of a meal
While the grey, heavy clouds clothed my soul with their cold, cold fill.

Yes, love is a daily dose of great cooking and a barrage of waterflow
From up above to paint thorny rosebuds in our very human rainbow …
Being afraid of storms blends with a hunger for a quiet, fulfilling tomorrow -
My approaching Christmas is preparing a table for magical snow and a drip of sorrow.
