Devils Playground.
It can become an obsession,
the heart, mind, and soul, can't distinguish physiologically
spiritual or emotional feelings.
Whether dealing with the
blackest of black or, the whitest of white
subsequently revealing its human worth.
When lines become blurred to the reality of life,
the refusal to admit guilt
or empathy towards another,
falls foul to the sanctuary of decency.
For the devil's playground has surely
engulfed your moral spirit,
a doomed soul on the path of no return.
Until, a small glimmer of hope,
a spark of realisation dawns,
one small good thought can rise up
against the darkness.
To grow brighter with each intake of breath,
stronger with each heartbeat,
more spiritual with each belief
and the recognition that,
good can win against evil.
As we recall, what once was lived,
replays in our minds.
Like an old movie on the silver screen.
I must echo the previous commenters, Annette, for this is truly a powerful piece and a striking glimmer of the great potential inside you that is now coming forth. Vividly rendered portrait of the struggle of good and evil, and our small lives caught on the battlefield. Bravo!
My dear friend, you have opened the gates of hades and walked out...the human worth! ! ! ! We are watching you become the great poet I know you you to be! ! ! This is one of the best poems I have read in a very long time! Be proud! ! !
