Devils House Wins Poem by Alex Lane

Devils House Wins

Have you heard the news?
Heaven has been lost
God has run aground
Under infernal frost
The devil sits in his cloak of light
On the tainted mercy seat
As his subjects exalt the night
In the club where the monsters meet

A great disguise and one grand plan
Now he owns all the souls
There's a shot to bring him down
Bring him down with his manifolds

Heroes in hell, help me
Down this well
Heroes in hell, help me

Taken through time and through space
I recognize his face
Saw the beauty of all there was
But I said ‘You are not God'
And for that I was cast down
Through Angel and Martyr Town
Through Paradise and Earth's rounds
Straight down
Crashing upon Hellish grounds

Heroes in hell, help me
Down this well
Heroes in hell, help me

The boatman came to find me there
Out on the edge of despair
The final tide
The great embark
The first step back
To the Shooting Shark.
